Banihal, Dec 27: In a major breakthrough a team of forest officials led by Range officer Banihal, Aamir Raza under the direct supervision of DFO Ramban, Zuhaib Chowdhary retrieved 408 kanals (20.4 hectares) of encroached forest land from the grab of encroachers in areas falling under jurisdiction of Banihal forest range .The forest officials dismantled various decade old structures and evicted the land from encroachers who used it for agriculture purposes besides raising the structures on the forest land since long .while talking DFO Ramban Zuhaib Chowdhary said that this was a part of mega encroachment eviction drive launched by Ramban Forest Division wherein concerned range officers have been instructed for retrieval of encroached forest land from the clutches of land grabbers . Range officer Banihal Aamir Raza said that it was one of the toughest task to do since the encroachment was decades old making the task very difficult . He also said it was the initial stage and this drive will continue to be into practice until most of the encroachment is not retrieved.
