BHOPAL: A six-year-old girl, who was reported missing in Pipariya town of Hoshangabad on Wednesday, was found raped and murdered
The last rites of the child were performed after autopsy. Deepak was caught in Burhanpur, over 350km away, on Saturday night.Under interrogation, the accused confessed to raping and murdering the child and told cops where he dumped the body, say police.
Police had no clues to begin with so they scanned CCTV footage all roads leading to the area and zeroed in on the suspect taking her away on a bicycle. Tension gripped the area as soon as news of the barbaric crime spread, and a mob set a house on fire in the child’s locality.The girl was playing alone on the street when she was kidnapped.
