Baramulla 01 May: Baramulla Police havr arrested Eight Gamblers from Pattan and Gantmulla areas of District Baramulla.
As per reports, Police party of Police Station Pattan received specific information regarding presence of gamblers at Iqbal Colony Pattan. Acting upon the information, police party led by Inspr. Sarjan Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan rushed towards the spot. On seeing the police party the accused tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
The arrested gamblers were identified as:- Waseem Ahmad Khanday R/O Pattan, Altaf Ahmad Shah R/O Pattan & Ab Hamid Miyan R/O Pattan. Playing cards along with stake money of ₹ 4,960/- were recovered from them
Meanwhile Police party of Police Station Sheeri received specific information regarding presence of gamblers at Barrage Gantamulla.
Acting upon the information police party led by SHO PS Sheeri rushed towards the spot. On seeing the police party they tried to flee from the spot but we’re apprehended tactfully.
The arrested gamblers were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Tantray R/O Kanthbagh Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Najar R/O Banglowbagh Baramulla, Abdul Majeed Teli R/O Banglowbagh Baramulla, Shabir Ahmad R/O Khanpora Baramulla & Ghulam Nabi R/O Banglowbagh Baramulla. Playing cards alongwith stake money of ₹ 34,650/- were recovered from them.
Accordingly, Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Sheeri & Pattan and investigation taken up.
