Jammu, Jan 31: “Amid pulls and pressures of the modern times, the involvement of parents and teachers has assumed added and crucial significance in shaping the academic destiny of youngsters”, Rana said while addressing Annual Day Function of the Diamond Public School Bajalta.
Highlighting the importance of teacher-parent synergy for sound academic foundation of children, Provincial President National Conference and MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana today said interpersonal relationship between the two should form important component process of the learning process.
“Amid pulls and pressures of the modern times, the involvement of parents and teachers has assumed added and crucial significance in shaping the academic destiny of youngsters”, Rana said while addressing Annual Day Function of the Diamond Public School Bajalta.
“Grooming young minds is a crucial challenge, not only for parents and students but also the managements, which have to generate conducive atmosphere for youngsters to grow in harmony”, Rana said and appreciated the growing role of private sector in the field of education. He said healthy competition between schools would ultimately benefit the youngsters and place them in good stead in meeting the challenges of modern times with confidence. “While parents can play a supportive role in shaping the future of their children, it is actually a teacher who has to perform the role of a guide, philosopher and role model”, he said adding that the relationship has to be based on trust.
Rana expressed happiness over the growth of Diamond Public School and exuded confidence that it will play its role in missionary spirit. He lauded the distinction achieved by students in various disciplines and hoped that they will maintain excellence in years to come.
Describing annual day function as a special occasion for students and their parents, Rana hoped these events will prove beneficial for the young people to demonstrate their talent in various spheres of activity. He referred to the participation of young children in various activities and said extra-curricular activities are imperative for overall growth and personality development.
Principal Diamond Public School Joginder Singh presented annual report and highlighted the achievements registered by students in various fields.
Apart from parents, students, faculty members, State Vice President National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Chairman Rehmat Ali, Mohan Lal, Darshan Kumar, Khajoor Singh, Shashi Kumar and Mohammed Saleem were present at the annual day function.
On the occasion, students presented a variety programme, depicting different facets of the pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
Later, Rana inaugurated the laboratory and library blocks of the school and complimented the management for taking due care about infrastructural facilities, which he described key component of education, especially at base level.
