Bhadarwah, Feb 11: Driver among 2 Killed and 15 other passengers got injured in a head-on collision between Winger and a Bus at Karara area of District Doda on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, A Winger traveler bearing registration number JK06-5733, which was on its way from Kishtwar to Jammu collided with a Bus(S.2000) bearing registration number JK02BA-8477 coming from opposite direction near Karara ,15 Km from Doda on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway(NH1B) at 1:30 Pm.
SHO Thathri Vinay Parihar said that the driver of the Winger died on the spot while 16 other passengers most of them from the Winger got injured.
“A police party from the adjoining Karara post reached the spot within minutes and with the help of locals, immediately shifted all the injured to District Hospital Doda,” SHO added.
Later, one seriously injured lady also died at Distt Hospital Doda.
The deceased have been identified as Driver Mohd Ramzan S/O Ghulam Qadir Lone R/O Ghuraka ,Seri of Bhadarwah and Shama Begum (42) W/O Farooq Ahmed R/O Qazikund.
The injured have been identified as Gulshan Begam (45) W/O Abdul Latief , Shafiq Begum(48) W/O Asgar Ali, Mohd Ashraf (45) S/O Ghulam Hussain, Asgar Ali (55) S/O Ghulam Hussain, Hanifa Begum(51) W/O Abdul Gani, Mohd Sharief (58) S/O Mohd Ramzan,Shakeela Begum(40) W/O Mohd Shafi, Parveena Begum(45) W/O Mohd Ashraf, Mohd Shafi(58) S/O Ghulam Hussain,Mahtaba Begum(50) W/O Mohd Shafi, Zaitoona Begum(48) W/O Mohd Shafi All resident of Bhalla, Koushalya Devi(55) W/O Subash Chander, Sarla Devi (50) W/O Vijay Kumar both resident of Kishtwar, Shazia Begum (35) W/O Barkat Ali R/O Doda and Abdul Gani (70) S/O Muhamdu Batt R/O Khelleni.
Meanwhile a case has been registered at Police Station Thathri.
