JAMMU, FEBRUARY 16: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today underlined the need for achieving extraordinary growth in infrastructure and human resource for the prosperity of the State.
The Minister said this while addressing a public meeting at Majalta, Ramnagar here today. MLA Ramnagar, RS Pathania was also present on the occasion.
Sethi, while referring to various socio-economic issues, said the government is focused on uniform development of all the regions of the state and for this multiple developmental initiatives are being launched regularly and implemented systematically.
She briefed the gathering about various central and state sponsored schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ladli Beti, Beti Bachao Beti Padao and urged the people to take maximum benefit from these initiatives.
Asserting that education is receiving special focus of the government, she said far reaching reforms have been introduced to raise the quality and standard of education at all levels.
“Consistent efforts are being made to strengthen the basic education infrastructure. Renovation and consolidation of existing physical infrastructure and reforms in teaching learning process with technological intervention is bound to give a turn around to the education scenario in the state” she added.
She said that the people have realized the major role that education plays in life of an individual, community, society and state adding that she was happy to note that the people are proactively participating in the initiatives aimed at improving education. She said that a change can only be called successful if it’s impact if felt at the grassroots level.
She also said that for economic development preservation of the local heritage and culture was also important. She announced that the famous Aap Shambu temple of the area will be connected to the Surinsar Mansar tourism circuit, while various other measures would be taken to promote tourism in the area.
Responding to the issues put forth by locals including issuance of Ration cards, Aadhaar cards, upgradation of Veterinary and health infrastructure, release of Pensions etc, the Minister said that concerns will be taken up over the appropriate channels.
She also highlighted the important role of women in growth of the society and said that their empowerment was essential for bringing out a lasting positive change in the society. She urged the women to become champions of their destiny and come up as driving force behind the state’s social, societal and economic growth.
Later, the Minister visited the Government Higher Secondary School, Khoon, and took a detailed review of its functioning. She also interacted with the students and teaching staff.
Reviewing the basic infrastructure available, the Minister directed the concerned officials to prepare a DPR for repair and renovation of the school and ensure early execution of the works.
She also visited the Shri Ranveshwar Mahadev an ancient Shiv Temple in the area and evaluated the modalities to connect this historical place with the Mansar- Surinsar religious tourism circuit. She directed the concerned officials to immediately take up renovation works for the temple and launch sanitation, beautification works around the site.
She also conducted surprise inspection of Government High School Kakrai and the Mansar Lake site.
