SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 21- District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri today chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the performance of various financial institutions operating in the district and achievements made under District Credit Plan.
The meeting was informed that the Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio for third quarter stands at 99.94 percent, while as deposits over previous quarter have increased by 33.63 percent and advances have decreased by 8.34 percent in the district.
It was given out in the meeting that since the inception of KCC Scheme in Shopian, banks have disbursed 43527 loan cases amounting to Rs 882.80 crore. Similarly, under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana as many as 57933 bank accounts have been opened in the district.
On the occasion, the DDC applauded the efforts of banks in extending financial services to the rural areas and said that banks should lay major thrust on organising awareness camps to educate people about various services and schemes available with the banks. He directed the concerned to identify a village for making it a model cashless village in the district.
He also enjoined upon bank officials to ensure 100 percent seeding of banks accounts with Aadhar numbers for Electronic Benefit Transfer and Direct Benefit Transfer.
Later, the DDC released Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2017-18 for Shopian district which was prepared by NABARD.
CPO, Representatives of NABARD & RBI, Officials of various financial institutions of the district, besides district officers of Line Departments attended the meeting.
