BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 22: In view of forthcoming Mahashivratri festival, an extensive market checking was conducted today in the district to keep a check on profiteering, black marketing and hoarding of essentials.
Supervised by ADC Bandipora, a market checking squad inspected various hotels, vegetable & fish markets, food shops and retail outlets in the district.
During the checking, a fine of Rs 4600 was realized from 10 erring traders for violating Essential Commodities and Standard of Weights and Measures Acts.
On the occasion, the ADC said that availability of Fish, Nadru and Vegetables would be ensured in abundance in markets during Mahashivratri festive days.
