PULWAMA, FEBRUARY 22: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam, today chaired a meeting to review pace of work on National Highway 444 project which passes through the district connecting it with Srinagar and Qazigund.
During the meeting, the DDC emphasized on the importance of the National Highway 444 project and said that the proposed highway will improve road infrastructure in the State and augment the existing road network to cater to ever increasing vehicular movement.
He directed the officials of executing agencies that minimum residential houses should be brought under its alignment and religious structures and graveyards should be excluded as far as possible.
He said that the said project when completed will expand the existing roads and would connect the Poonch–Rajouri Circular road and road leading to Lassipora industrial centre thus shall provide boost to economy.
The DDC directed the officials to complete the revenue papers to be by March 2017, while as officials of executing agency will depute a dedicated team with revenue agency to carry out the task in an efficient and transparent manner.
