SRINAGAR, FEBUARY 27- Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad today visited various areas in Pampore Constituency and took stock of developmental works under execution in these areas. He also inspected Timber Sale Depot, Pampore.
While taking stock and availability of timber position in the Constituency, the Minister was informed that a target of 5000 cft of timber was fixed for the current financial year, of which 3600 cft has been dumped so far at Timber Sale Depot.
Mir Zahoor passed instructions to the concerned officers to provide additional 1000 cfts of timber to Pampore Depot immediately to meet the requirements of the consumers of the area.
The Minister also reviewed the stock position of timber of other existing Sale Depots of Pampore Constituency and directed the concerned to ensure adequate availability at all Depots. He also asked them to work with utmost dedication, honesty and provide timber to the deserving consumers on first cum first serve basis.
Mir Zahoor also took stock of various road projects under execution in Pampore Constituency.
The Minister was informed about the progress of different road projects. He said that an amount of Rs 12 crore has been sanctioned for new road project from Gas Turbine Tulubagh to Kounibal and the work will be executed soon. He was also apprised about the pace of progress of Pathribal, Kandizole and Gujjar Basti road projects.
The Minister directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on all road projects and complete them in a stipulated time frame. He also asked them to conduct frequent field visits of Pampore Constituency and monitor the ongoing works properly.
Senior officers of R&B, Forest, State Forest Corporation, Revenue and other departments accompanied the Minister during his tour.
