JAMMU, MARCH 01- In a bid to create whip on the traffic violators, Traffic Police today launched a special drive against two-wheelers for violation of traffic norms across the state.
The drive was launched on the directions of Inspector General of Police Traffic, Jagjit Kumar. During the drive, 2947 two-wheelers were booked for violations of traffic offenses which include 2681 without helmet, 255 triple riding etc. Traffic sleuths also challaned 10746 violators during the drive.
IGP said that such type of special drive would continue in future also to curb the menace of traffic violations so that traffic sense is developed among common masses which will automatically reduce road accident.
