JAMMU, MARCH 2: Governor N.N. Vohra has greeted the people on the occasion of “World Wild Life Day” which is observed on 3rd March every year.
In his message, the Governor has observed that the World Wildlife Day provides us an opportunity to celebrate the beautiful and varied forms of fauna and flora which abound in Jammu and Kashmir and to launch appropriate initiatives for making our people aware of the manifold benefits which accrue from conservation programmes. He noted that the existence of wildlife makes a valuable contribution to advance and strengthen the ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational and aesthetic aspects of sustainable development and human welfare.
The Governor has suggested that the celebration of this year’s theme- “Listening to the Young Voices”- should be gainfully utilised to provide meaningful incentives to equip and enable the youth to effectively deal with conservation issues. He appealed to one and all, young and old, to join hands for all required steps being taken to ensure against the speedy disappearance of varied wildlife species and to protect their habitats.
