REASI, MARCH 4: Minister of State for Finance & Planning, IT, Relief & Rehabilitation, Ajay Nanda today laid foundation of shelter building for Urban Homeless under Deen Dayal Antodaya Yojana (DAY) – National Urban Livelihoods Mission at Aghar Ballian, Reasi.
District Development Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar, officers of district administration and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Nanda said the government is committed for strengthening social fabric by providing equitable development and social justice. He said the shelter will cater to the needs of urban homeless including children, old aged, disabled and working women by creating special sections and provisioning special services therein.
The shelter when completed will have intake capacity of 100 persons with facilities of kitchen, dining hall, sanitation facilities, recreational zones and locker room. It would be completed in an estimated cost of Rs. 177 lakhs.
