Rajouri, Dec 13: NSS unit of Himalayan College Of Education organized “SWACHH BHARAT Abhyan MISSION”. The events involved in the mission aimed a cleanliness drive, awareness rally, Park-cleanliness drive and awareness campaign. A sizeable number of NSS volunteers participated in these events. The programme organizers namely Hamid Malik, r Farid Ahmed and Miss Noreen Kouser motivated the students and people of the area to clear their surroundings to maintain hygiene. NSS students cleaned the campus first, then initiated the cleanliness drive at Village Thandikassi . On the occasion people were given awareness regarding the programme. Besides, volunteers cleaned the streets. A special interactive session with the villagers was also held in order to make them aware of the importance of toilets in their houses and assistance being provided by various govt agencies for the said purpose. Several local youth also intended to extend a helping hand to the students and teachers of the college in making the area clean and hygienic. The organising team also decided to launch a massive awareness campaign in various parts of the district and also chalked out a substantial programme for the accomplishment of this pious mission in the days to come
