Phagwara, Dec 14: Three students of the Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara were killed while another sustained serious injuries when their vehicle was hit by a truck on a turn on the Madhopur bypass near Chiherru due to poor visibility caused by dense fog in the wee hours today. The accident occurred around 0330 hrs when the students were heading to Phagwara and their car collided with a truck on the road. The deceased have been identified as Kamalkar, Josaf and Ajay, all were natives of Hyderabad and presently residing in a paying guest house in Satnampura locality. Injured Ashish Kumar, who also hails from Hyderabad, was admitted to a civil hospital. It was learnt that Ashish came from Hyderabad to meet his friends few days ago and had to return today. SHO Sat Paul Singh said the families of the deceased have been informed about the accident. Their bodies will be handed over to them after post-mortem.
