Lucknow, March 22: A mob set three mutton shops on fire in Hathras areas of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night, barely two days after Hindutva leader Yogi Adityanath took charge as the chief minister of the state.The police said the shops were burnt by “anti-social elements”, reported NDTV news channel.The report said that protests erupted in the area after the incidents.“The 44-year-old priest politician has campaigned aggressively against slaughterhouses and the BJP has said that a promised ban will soon come into effect. The party asserts that only illegal slaughterhouses will be shut down, rubbishing speculation that all such establishments face a ban,” said the report.On Monday, two slaughterhouses were shut down; the government said they were illegal.
