MAYOR KICK STARTS VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS
Continuing his Endeavour to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu, the Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith Madam Sandhya Gupta councilor of ward no.15 today on 07/07/2020 conducted tour of ward no.15 and kick started construction work of deep drain in the areas of New Kaleeth Nagar near Hari market from Hotel Shivalik to Hotel Ganesh in ward no.15. Ghulam Rasool, Executive Engineer, Ajay Gupta Asstt. Executive Engineer , Ram Lal, Junior Engineer of division –I, JMC concerned contractor as well as Sh Anil Gupta, Senior leader, other prominent citizens and Shopkeepers of the market were also present during the tour of the Mayor & Councilor . This was the long pending demands of the shopkeepers & residents of the locality and they have requested the concerned councilor and Hon’ble Mayor to construct this particular deep drain for the convenience of the tourists and locals being the tourist prone area, Mayor said that this covered deep drain including slab & gratings will be constructed at the estimate cost of Rs 13 lacs only and it will provide great relief to the shopkeepers and residents of the area as after completion of this covered drain the breadth of the lane will automatically widened and people can walk easily being the thorough fare and narrow one.
Later Mayor alongwith Sh Shamsher Singh Manhas (Member of Parliament of Rajya sabha) also visited the area of Paloura and took stock of the development work /rejuvenation of water body (pond) at Paloura. Sh Surinder Sharma Hon’ble Councilor of ward No.38, Sh Ravesh mangi mandal President Janipur , Sh Sangeeta Verma Mandal , Gen. Secy, Sh Sanjay Bhat also Mandal Gen. Secy. Of Janipur, prominent residents of the locality, Sh Arun Gupta , Executive Engineer, Sh Ranjan Sharma Junior Engineer of Division-II were also present during the tour. Hon’ble Member of Parliament told the gatherings that this is one of the oldest & big Pond of Jammu and has been got dried and he has already got sanctioned two number of water pumps from PHE and Irrigation department and there is a provision of beautiful lake to promote more tourism at this site. Hon’ble Mayor also directed the concerned engineering Division accompanied the tour to properly develop this ancient water body by making a walkway as well as construction of beautiful park. He also directed to lay the fencing & fix colourful tiles around the old pipple tree near this area and said that JMC has already allotted Rs 25 lacs for development of water body in each ward as these were the main source of water in earlier days and it is the prime duty of every individual to cooperate in developing other identified water bodies in their respective areas, plant more and more saplings around them to make the environment eco friendly.
