JKAP demands regularization of all daily wagers, contractual, need-based workers, SPOs & Rehbre-e-Khel in J&K

Jammu, July 13: Seeking regularization of the daily wagers and contractual workers, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) today appealed to the Government to ensure the release of wages/salaries on a monthly basis.

The J&K Apni Party leaders organized a meeting under the leadership of former minister Manjit Singh, senior leader Vikram Malhotra, senior leader Namrata Sharma and Ajaz Kazmi to discuss various issues being faced by the employees, daily wagers, need-based workers, SPOs, Rehbr-e- Khel and privatization of Power Development Department (PDD).

During the meeting, the members expressed concern over the constant delay in the disbursement of salaries of employees working in PDD, Corporations, daily wagers, and PHE (Jal Shakti Department).

Since their wages are not being released on a regular basis, they said, the employees and workers are in distress because of non-payment of their loans instalments, school free and inability to fulfil other routine needs.

“The Government should ensure that they get their salaries every month and comprehensive policy should be made their regularization,” demanded the J & K Apni Party leaders.

They said due to delay in the release of salaried employees are facing difficult situations and many borrow from their relatives in order to meet up the expenses.

“The Government should give compensation to the workers who have got electrocuted in electrical accidents,” they demanded.

They alleged that “The regularization of the daily wagers has also been completely halted which has dented the morale of the field staff who are serving the department since the last 20 years with zeal and enthusiasm.”

They said that “The SPOs should be paid a justified salary and should be regularized, Rehbr-e-Khel are being paid just 3000 per month which is not the cost of milk a family of four consumes in a day.”
