MGNREGA employees on pen down Strike at Ramnagar, demands regularization

Udhampur: The MGNREGA employees held pen down Strike at Ramnagar on Tuesday over the demand of regularization. These employees have been working in the rural development department for last several years and have been rendering the services for the rural sector development in their respective areas. The important works in RDD under MGNREGA schemes are executed with the hard work of these employees. These employees have been working on various posts as per the requirement of the department,The leaders of employees said that they have been engaged in the RDD before 12 years and before few years the then Govt framed the regularization policy but that could not be implemented till date. They said that most of the employees have crossed the upper age limit and are not eligible to apply for any Govt Job. They have appealed the LG administration to regularize them and threatened to intensify the agitation if their demands are not redressed. It is to mention that the contractors as well as general public has suffered due to pen down strike of these employees.
