Locals mulling to approach Anti-corruption Bureau
Srinagar, Sep 21, KDC: Locals from Ajas area of Bandipora allege that the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Business unit Ajas in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been made a hub of nepotism, favouritism, while large scale bunglings have surfaced since past few months.
Sources privy to the Business unit Ajas revealed to news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) that large scale bungling and misappropriation of loan schemes are at its peak and taking the cover of Covid-19 pandemic the officials at the helm of affairs have become dictators and have made the unit their private estate.
Sources also said that two employees of the aforesaid branch have made the unit captive.
“These two are granting loans to their blue-eyed ones without following proper procedure and any documentation, while the deserving and otherwise eligible beneficiaries are denied or they are being avoided on the pretext or the other.
Sajad Ahmad, a medium businessman by profession told news agency KDC that he has drawn CC loan amounting to rupees 3 lakh few months back and according to him, he is neither a defaulter nor has his account is any discrepancy, but despite fulfilling all the required formalities for seeking an additional loan of 5-6 lakh rupees to improvise his business, he is being grilled and is confronting delaying tactics on the part of Bank Management.
He asserted that the action on the part of the business unit is against his consumer rights and the concerned manager is enjoying self-sanctioned vacation and is absconding from his office since past so many days.
Sources also said that there are large scale misappropriations in Agro term loans, which has been granted to irrelevant and ineligible consumers and thus tantamount to rob Peter and pay Paul.
Meanwhile, locals are mulling to approach the Anti-corruption Bureau to unearth the scams for which according to them they have sufficient documentary proofs.
When contacted to get his reaction regarding the above said allegations, the manager of JK Bank Ajas said there is nothing like this happening in our branch. If you want to clarify more you come and meet us at our branch we will check, he told this reporter. (KDC)
