MAYOR VISITS MUNICIPAL LAND BANDHU RAKH, REVIEWS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 08/10/2020 inspected Bandhu Rakh & took stock of the ongoing development activities at the said site. Dr Susheel Sharma , Municipal Veterinary Officer, and other field staff of his section, Sh Ashok Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) Division-IV, Sh Rakesh Verma Assistant Engineer (electrical) along with technical staff of electrical section JMC as well as supervisory staff of health section were also accompanied the mayor during the tour. Mayor went round the whole complex & reviewed the ongoing construction activities there. He was apprised by the Municipal Veterinary Officer JMC that in order to contain the menace of stray animals in the City, there is dire need of temporary cattle sheds until the construction work of permanent Goshala at Panjgrain, Nagrota is completed as the current space available at Municipal Cattle Pond at Dogra Hall Jammu does not cater this service as only about 60 number of stray animals can be placed there. Mayor issued on spot directions to the Engineering Wing to expedite the ongoing construction work of temporary sheds separately for stray horses and cows, Vermi compost unit, UNDP shed, Solid waste management unit, construction of deep drains for smooth flowing of waste water, upgradation of quarters/rooms, renovation/construction of toilets & bathrooms, construction of weigh bridge measuring 5.5 mts x 2.48 mts and other allied works strictly according to the already prepared site plan. Mayor also directed the concerned engineering wing to follow up the action regarding road connectivity of about 1km stretch with the public works department, the matter of which has already been conveyed to the Chief Engineer (PWD). Mayor also directed the engineering staff of electrical section accompanying with him to install more LED street lights / High mast lights in the complex as well as on the road leading to this prestigious Municipal land to avoid any type of mishappenings & thefts due to prevailing darkness in the area. Mayor told that these are vital projects and after their completion, the menace of stray animals, garbage collection points issues, segregation of dry/wet wastes as well as plastics can be controlled upto some extent. He appeal to the General Public to come forward and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in various other development works, avoid using single used plastics / polythenes, adopt the habit of segregation of dry / wet waste at their own level, also put garbage, filth etc only in the nearby dustbins in order to make Jammu city neat, clean and green.
