MAYOR & HIS TEAM INAUGURATES VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS IN THE CITY
Continuing his commitment to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 12/10/2020 kick-started the construction work of deep drains alongside Main Road at Lower Shiv Nagar area of ward no.33 on the demands of the locals as well as shopkeepers of the locality. Mayor said that due to broken drainage system in this Bazar, dirty water often overflows causing great inconvenience for the passersby & shopkeepers. This development work has been started with an estimate cost of Rs. 9.00 lakh only. Mayor also inaugurated the functioning of platform (Thada) built around traditional pipple tree at Rajpura Mangotrian of Ward No: 33 which has been constructed on the requests of inhabitants of the ward with an estimate cost of Rs. 4.50 lakh only. Sh. Arun Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. S.K. Bhat Junior Engineer Division – II as well as prominent inhabitants of the ward were also present there and thanked the mayor for taking keen interest in fulfilling their old demands .
Later, mayor alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Hon’ble Deputy Mayor, Sh. Narotam Sharma Councillor of ward No: 3 (Peer kho area), Sh. Parveen Kerni Jammu East Mandal President, Madam Sunita Koul Councillor of ward no: 4, Sh. Gopal Gupta Councillor of ward No: 5 also conducted an extensive tour in the areas of Peer Kho & its adjoining localities, inaugurated the Green Walk way Project starting from Peer Kho upto Panjtirthi covering all the traditional & old temples situated in the enroute. This was the long pending Project under AMRUT Scheme with an estimate cost of Rs. 4 Crore only. Speaking on this occasion, Mayor told that he alongwith Deputy Mayor & concerned Councillors of Old city Area made sincere efforts in getting this project completed which was lying in pipe line from the last many years. Prominent Citizens of the Ward No: 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Mahant Rajinder Nath, Mahant Karan Nath of Peer Kho Temple. Sh. Sunil Thussu Joint Commissioner (Works), concerned Executive Engineer of JMC alongwith other field staff were also remained present during the inauguration function which was held in a simple manner keeping in view the proper Social distancing.
Besides this, Mayor alongwith Madam Jyoti Devi Councilor of ward no: 53 also paid visit of the Trikuta Nagar area & met with the locals, listened to their General issues regarding proper sanitation, lifting of stray dogs / animals on routine basis, installation / rectification of LED Street Lights in the left over areas, construction of remaining lanes / drains in the ward and other related matters. Mayor assured that all their genuine issues will be taken up on priority basis. He also kick started the construction work of drains as well as Black Topping work of the road and lanes which are kaccha at Bhawani Vihar Trikuta Nagar area which was the long pending demands of the locals. Mayor said that this development work is being executed by the Public Works Department with an estimate cost of Rs. 5.63 lakh only. Sh Romesh Chander Ji, Sh Sham lal Senior leaders of BJP and other prominent inhabitants of the Trikuta Nagar area and concerned Junior Engineer of PWD alongwith Supervisory Staff of Health Section of JMC were also accompanied the Mayor during the tour of the ward.
Mayor appeal to the General Public to come forward & co-operate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken within its jurisdiction in order to make Jammu City neat, Clean and Green.
