The news item was carried out by news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC), in which it was reported that illegal constructions and violations of building permission was complained from many areas of Downtown Srinagar and Ward No. 18 in particular.

A delegation of residents from various localities of Ward number 18 of Safakadal downtown Srinagar area had alleged that illegal constructions were coming up in the Downtown area at large scale, while the SMC authorities had kept their eyes shut over it, resulting in a concrete jungle coming up in the area, without any urban laws being followed.
Subsequently, SMC authorities taking the cognizance of the report suspended three concerned officers on 15th Oct 2020 and were attached with Chief Anti Encroachment Office, pending the enquiry. (KDC)
