Restore statehood, protect jobs & land in J&K: Manjit Singh
Kandi areas facing worse kind of drinking water crisis, poor road connectivity
JAMMU, Oct 21: Apni Party Provincial President Manjit Singh has demanded restoration of statehood, protection to the jobs and land in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering at Panchayat Bari in Bari Brahmana Block in Samba district, the Former Minister Manjit Singh said that the people have lost their hopes after August 5 changes in Jammu and Kashmir.
“There is no sigh of relief for the people who had hoped that the financial, job and other sectors will see a difference. There is only one difference that no elections are held and the administration does not listen to the grievances of the people,” said Manjit Singh.
Singh was addressing a group of youth. “The promises are yet to be fulfilled with regard to the jobs. The downgrading of Dogra state into a Union Territory has deeply saddened the people of Jammu particularly.”
“The people had hopes with the Govt which has turned blind eyes towards their suffering. Elected Govt is answerable to the people and the bureaucrats have no such responsibility. It is because of this reason, the people have developed a feeling of alienation and no one is listening to their issues,” said Manjit Singh.
Addressing a meeting of PRI members and other prominent people of Bari Panchayat, Manjit Singh expressed his concern over the poor drinking water and electricity supply in the villages.
On road connectivity, he expressed surprised concern over the shabby condition of the roads and criticized the department concern for ignoring the rural population.
The Former Minister demanded that the road should be repaired and connectivity should be improved with all facilities. He said the Kandi has the worst kind of drinking water crisis and it should be addressed by the Govt as early as possible.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Mohammed Saleem Alam, retired ZEO Noor Hussain, retired CEO Babu Ram Bhagat, Master Thodu Ram, retired Subedar Jagdish Raj, Naginder Kumar Kattal and others.
