    SBCC clinched Navreh Premier League trophy by defeating RSCC
    Jammu University VC Prof. Manoj Dhar appreciates organizing such sporting events
    Jammu, October 26:
    Sai Baba Cricket Club (SBCC) clinched Narveh Premier League trophy by defeating Rajiv-Sameer Cricket Club (RSCC) during the final match at sprawling Country Cricket Stadium, Ambgorta on Sunday.
    The ‘Veteran Tournament’ was organised by Navreh Cricket Club in which 10 teams participated. The teams were divided into two pool groups of 5-teams each. Surprisingly, the inaugural match of the tournament was also played between the two teams-SBCC and RSCC.
    The Chief Guest on the occasion was Jammu University, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manoj Dhar.  Guest of Honour was Vimal Kumar, MD, Royal Nest,  Dr. Suresh Saraf and Rajesh Padha.
    Age group of the majority of the players was 35-years and above. Every team had only two players below the age of 35-years making the tournament quite different from other such sporting events being organised in Jammu.
    Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof. Manoj Dhar appreciated the initiative of Navreh Cricket Club (NCC). He said that such tournaments are important to ensure youngsters participate in sporting events and effort is made to divert their attention towards physical activities.
    “More such tournaments should be organized especially at village level so that youth are able to play and talented one get opportunities and a platform to showcase their skills”, Prof. Dhar said.
    The winning team SBCC received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 from Chief Guest Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj Dhar while runner up team RSCC received a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
     Man of the Match in the final was Bhanu.  Bhanu was also declared as best batsman of the tournament and Man of the Series. Bhanu with maximum number of 18-sixes in the tournament received an Oppo A-53 series mobile phone from Arpit Electronics. Mintu from NCC (Navreh Cricket Club) was declared as best bowler of the tournament. Best Fielder of the tournament was Anoop Kaul from (Achievers Cricket Club) ACC. Medals for all players of runner up and winning team and trophy to the captains was also presented.
    Mementos were also presented to umpires Girdhari Lal and Arjun. Memento was presented to the scorer, who maintained the records, Master Arun.
    Sponsors of the cricket tourney were Royal Nest, Arpit Electronics, Divya Jal, Patanjali, Jai Bevrages Pvt. Ltd.
    Bakshi Packers, Playway House School, Incredible deals, Tech Tools, Endurance Earth Movers, Asha Bhawan Banquet, Alpha Production, Tiffin Hut and Enigma Car Accessories.  Certificates were also given to the captains of the participating teams.
