DM Assures uninterrupted essential services, seeks people’s cooperation in fight against COVID-19

Udhampur, 25 April: To curtail the Covid-19 Surge, L.G Manoj Kumar Sinha yesterday announced 34 hour Complete Corona Curfew across J&K UT, accordingly all over J&K all markets, Business establishments remained closed in all Districts. District Magistrate Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, (KAS) ensured Corona curfew in the district. She said that the successful Corona Curfew is the result of public’s cooperation and Administration’s joint efforts. She told that there were no violations till now and added that ongoing marriage functions and attendees are allowed to attend the function by showing the cards.
The restrictions that came into force on 8 PM on Saturday will remain till 6 AM on Monday in Udhampur district, the officials said.
However, essential and emergency services were being allowed to move, they added.
The officials said police vehicles, fitted with a public address system, went around localities announcing the imposition of strict restrictions for combating the spread of Coronavirus, People were cooperating with the district administration.
On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had announced a complete corona curfew in the Union Territory.
Earlier, on April 8, the administration had ordered imposition of night curfew from 10 pm to 6 am in the urban areas of eight districts which was later extended to municipal and urban local body limits of all the 20 districts in the Union Territory on April 20.
The UT has witnessed a surge in COVID-19 cases over the last few weeks.
