Jammu, July 02: The soldiers once again proved their tendency of sacrifice by endangered their own lives to save the civilians victims of road accident.
As per details, a Tata Sumo loaded with passengers hit with a thud another civil vehicle at Digdaol in Ramban district at around 4.45 pm on 02 July 2021.
After hitting the vehicle rolled down a 500 ft deep gorge from NH-44.
Soldiers of nearby Territorial Army Camp, seeing the accident immediately rushed to the accident spot. Endangering their own lives, the Territorial Army soldiers went down a 80° steep slope and rescued the badly stuck passengers from the Tata Sumo. Four injured passengers including the driver were promptly rescued by the Army personnel thus saving precious lives. In a short while other jawans from the Company also joined and increased the effort, gave First Aid to the injured passengers and shifted them to hospital.
Unfortunately five other passengers lost their lives on the spot.
This humane gesture and swift rescue operations which saves precious lives was highly appreciated by the locals and the victims who thanked them for the noble act.
