Eight coaches of Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Mahakaushal Express have derailed near Mahoba station in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. As per reports, around 22 persons were injured in the mishap. The Chief Public Relations Officer, North Central Railway said that the accident occurred at 2:07 am.
A 47 member NDRF team reached the derailment site to conduct rescue operations. RP Singh of the NDRF said that there have been no casualties so far and there is less probability of people being trapped.
Earlier this morning when the derailment took place, the CPRO said an accident relief train had been rushed to the site and the injured were being provided with first-aid. Around eight coaches from the rear side of the train derailed between Mahoba and Kulpahar stations, he said.
