Samba, 12-Jan;As a part of ongoing Road Safety Week 2023 MVD Samba today launched drive to clear road crossings remove illegal obstructions ,idle parked vehicles lying on or along NH in Samba town
Speaking on Occasion ARTO Samba Rehana Tabassam said that any kind of distraction or obstruction to normal traffic is being removed along all roads as these are potential cause for accidents and fatalities.
Addressing the locals ,drivers She said that analysis of fatalities due to accidents which were happened in past occurred due to either due to carelessly/inattentive/dangerously driving /overspeeding or due to non wearing of helmet so by mending ones behaviour toward road safety the target of minimizing annual death rate can be reduced .She added that before enforcing stringent measures initiative are being made to motivate all stakeholders to join the drive and play proactive role in saving precious lives.
Later another awareness programme was organized at vijaypur to educate drivers about latest amendment in Traffic rules and regulations.
MvI Vikas Srivats while addressing the gathering emphasis the importance of wearing helmets ,seat belts and other corrective steps which are needed for road users to ensure safety of themselves and others.
Officials from municipalities,police Traffic ,drivers,locals are present on the occasion.
