Samba, 12-Jan:BIRSA An initiative of District Administration Samba to give impetus to local rich dogra art and culture as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav concluded, here today at Historic Samba Fort, amdist fanfare, enthusiasm and gaiety of locals across the ages.
Deputy Commissioner Samba Ms Anuradha Gupta chief guest on the ocassion said that to preserve and promote our vivid Dogra Heritage especially among younger masses, the BIRSA programme was conceptualized and competitions including Parola making traditional wall art, Dogra cusines making like chirolian, Babroo, Kiyur etc were held in the Samba Fort. “to preserve our culture it is also important to spread message on sustainable environment and under aegis of Har Ghar Champion Waste to Art competition was also held today” informed DC Samba.
DC also announced that BIRSA will be an annual feature of District administration Samba under promotion of Art and culture divison and directed District Information Officer Samba to include more events into it’s ambit and create a niche for Vocal For Local and Atamnirbhar campaign.
The winners as well as participants were given mementos, certificates of participantion besides handholding for pursuing their talent as career.
Among others District Information Officer Ajay Sharma, DSWO Deep Kumar, AD FCS&CA Mukther Ahmed, AD Handicrafts, CEO Jaswant Singh besides other officials were also present.
