In its drive against drug menace, Kulgam Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 40 Kilograms of Poppy Straw (Fukki) at two different locations.
A police party of police post Behibagh laid a naka near Sumo Stand Behibagh. During naka checking one person identified as Mohammad Ashraf Shah resident of Behibagh was intercepted. On search, 10 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered.
A case FIR number 32/2017 under section 8/15 was registered and investigation was taken up.
In another instance, a police party of police post Jawahar Tunnel intercepted a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01D-3499 at Naka point command post National Highway. On checking 30 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in two bags was recovered from the possession of Mohammad Rafiq Mir son of Abdul Gani resident of Guzmail Kupwara.
A case FIR number 62/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation was taken up.
