Indian Army at Ghat & camp Doda, under the aegis of Suigarh Sector established Smart Classrooms for XI and XII at Govt Higher Secondary School (Girls), Doda & amp; Higher Secondary School Ghat on 31 Mar 17. This will facilitate computer based learning on a software, with J&K Board Syllabus.
In the aftermath of the disturbed months from Jun 2016 to Oct 2016, education in J&K got relegated to an all time low, leaving little hope for those who believed in peace and progress through knowledge and learning.
Taking a cue from the dismal state of affairs, Suigarh Sector saw it as an opportune moment and decided to give an impetus to the education infrastructure by making value addition to the medium of teaching in a few selected schools (to make a beginning), for classes XI and XII in Doda District .This was done with an aim to make Chenab Valley in general and Doda in particular to emerge as an example for others to emulate. Apropos above, four schools were Doda, Ghat, Bhaderwa and Kilotran, out of which two were Girls and two Co-ed schools. It was decided to equip these schools with Smart Boards for classes XI & XII, to facilitate computer based learning on a software, with J&K Board syllabus.
For this mega project Indian Army at Suigarh contacted an Export House in Delhi by the name of Mirza International, who were enthusiastic about the project and graciously agreed to provide Smart Boards though Edu Comp Ltd, a Gurgaon based company, worth approx Rs 12 lacs & # 39; Training the Trainers & #39; capsule will now commence shortly, where the teacher will be taught about the handling of hardware and software through a week long workshop conducted by experts from Edu Comp Ltd.
Taking inspiration from this initiative by Mirza International, more Corporate Houses from Delhi/NCR have expressed their desire to contribute towards this noble effort and Doda District is likely to get few more Smart Boards very soon. Indian Army Doda in its drive to uplift the lives of local populace installed Solar Street Lights at Ghat, Doda on 31 Mar 17 under Sadhbhavana. Keeping in view the recent leopard attacks, RR Battalion Doda took initiative to light up the common public areas for safety of the villagers.
Commander, Indian Army dedicated the installed street solar lights to the people of Ghat in presence of village sarpanch and elders.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander Indian Army assured the Awam of continuous support by Indian Army. Solar street lights installation will not only ensure safe movement at night but also contribute towards environment conversation by using non conventional mode of energy.
It will further encourage the locals to switch over to solar energy and other renewable sources of energy. Villagers of Ghat and civil administration have appreciated the Army’s initiative towards continuously contributing to well being of masses and betterment of the society.
