Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that sports play an important role in building healthy nation.
While interacting with J&K based National Powerlifting Championship Medal winners, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that sports keep body and mind fit to do productive works.
He said that sports play pivotal role in building a healthy nation and government is committed to boost sports activities in Jammu & Kashmir so that to keep the young minds healthy.
Appreciating J&K Players for bringing laurels to the state in National Power lifting Championship, the Minister said that J&K is producing very efficient players in different sports. He said that J&K youth are producing shinning stars at National and International levels and this is a healthy sign for the overall development of sporting culture in the state. He congratulated all the medalists including Narender Pal Singh for winning silver medal in National bench-press, gold in North-India , Achint Kour for winning bronze in National bench-press, Neha for winning silver in powerlifting, bronze in National bench-press, Rabia Khan for winning bronze medal, Shubam Aryan for winning gold in deadlift as well as gold in National bench-press, Jagbir Singh for winning silver in National bench-press and Vickramjeet singh for winning silver in power lifting.
The team was honoured by the Minister in presence of Managing Committee comprising of Rajan Jain, General Secretary of J&K Power lifting Association.
