Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) paid floral Tributes to Late Prof. K. L. Verma who left this false world recently. A tabla maestro, Prof. Verma retired as Head of the Department from the Institute of Music and Fine Arts Jammu. He was remembered for his Artistic skills, passion for music, helping nature, clear heartedness and being a thorough gentleman. he was disciple of world renowned santoorist and son of the soil, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma. He carried forward the tradition of “teacher-disciple” and trained many artists in the field of tabla. Many of his disciples are today recognised tabla players including his son Neeraj Verma, who is well known for his tabla skills and mesmerising performances. Prof. Verma is survived by his wife and three sons.
Capt. lalit Sharma, Convener, Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) described Prof. Verma a great artist and a great human being, who was always warm and courteous.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President, Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) Jammu and a noted musician while paying his tributes said that demise of Prof. Verma has created a big void in the musical circles of Jammu and said that his sartilating and mersmerising performances will be long remembered. He said that his magic fingers on tabla always resonated the body and soul of the audience and carried along other fellow instrumentalists and the singers in wonderful state of harmony. Yash Pal Yash a renowned lyricist and singer recalled his performances with Prof. Verma. He said that he always gave a perfect ‘Ley-Taal’ to his lyrics and compositions, enhanced their audibility and receptebility among the music lovers. He said that this great artist always believed in team work, coordination and mutualism.
Well known singer and upcoming music director Manoj Bakshi, Programme Executive Music, Radio Kashmir Jammu described him an Ustaad artist and said that his contributions in boosting and channelising the local talent is laudable.
Sham Talib, President, Adbi Kunj said that the local music circles have lost their ‘Ley-Taal’ on demise of this great artist.
Arsh Om Dalmotra, Chairman Adbi Kunj Jammu described him a legendary artist. Prof. Anupama Sharma, noted Dogri singer said that he was like his Guru and has learnt a lot from him. Mohan Lal Komal, a well known Tabla player, singer and poet while condoling the death of Prof. Verma said that he had artistic reflection of renowned Tabla Player Ustad Alla Rakha, an other great son of the soil.
Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Singer, Poetess, Drama Artist and Anchor recalled her families long association with the departed soul and described him a fatherly and teacherly figure.

Kamra, Rajsh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Kanwar Narayan Singh, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, Yash Pal ‘Yash’ and so on.
