Expenditure Observer to the 3-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, Farhat Khan, today held an interactive meeting with nodal officers, expenditure and assistant expenditure monitoring observers of Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian at Dak Bungalow here. The concerned officers apprised the Observer of the arrangements made for ensuring perfect counting and monitoring of election expenditure incurred by the contesting candidates.
It was informed that the expenditure monitoring teams have maintained shadow registers for accounting purposes. Besides, flying squads and static surveillance teams have been constituted to report the expenditure made by the contesting candidates.
The Expenditure Observer impressed upon the officers to submit daily reports as per the formats devised by the Election Commission of India. He also called for sensitizing the flying squads and establishment of check posts by static surveillance teams.
The nodal officers of flying squads were directed to report the in-house meeting of political parties regarding the election process so that proper books are maintained, whereas the expenditure monitoring nodal officers were asked to keep liaison with political parties and educate them about the modus operandi of expenditure accounting.
