Jammu, Dec 15: An extra ordinary meeting of the Panun Kashmir office bearers’ team was held today at its office at Jammu. The meeting was presided over by Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir. The meeting was specially attended by a number of delegations of the displaced employees. The participants among others included S/Shri Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, Gen. Secretary, Kamal Bagati, Organising Secretary, Pamposh Kaul, Sr. leader of the displaced employees, Vijay Qazi, NM Gadroo and Sameer Bhat. The meeting discussed various important and pressing issues pertaining to the employees’ sector of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community and the present socio-political scenario viz.a.viz Kashmiri Pandits.
Shri Pamposh Kaul in his presentation sought support of the KP leadership in the struggle for mitigating the problems of the displaced employees. He gave a detailed briefing on their concerns and also expected early resolution of the leave encashment on superannuation issue.
Shri Virender Raina, National Spokesperson in his address said that Panun Kashmir remains committed to the issues raised by the members of the delegations. He said that there is a need to have a bifocal vision which would cover both immediate and ultimate concerns of the community. Whether it is the issue of the employees or traders or the students, Panun Kashmir has always been in the forefront of their struggle. Over the years, unfortunately, the Kashmiri Pandits have been systematically eased out of the politico-administrative set-up of the state. This has to end so that the nationalist constituency gets a boost and also acts as a deterence against the disruptive forces.
Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir in his address assured the participants that a number of issues are being persuaded by the Panun Kaahmir leadership at all appropriate levels. These include the issues like grant of leave encashment on superannuation to the displaced employees, salary and stay of displaced package employees, grant of scholarship to the displaced students under PM scholarship scheme for J&K students, admission in the deemed university institutions under JK quota and HRA-CCA allowance to the displaced employees for which the court has already issued the orders. There is also an imperative need to follow up the issue of implementation of Prime Minister employment package for displaced community in a renewed and reformed manner without draconian conditions. We also welcome in this context the Central government’s decision of hundred percent financial approvals for all the 6000 posts created for the displaced community youth. Panun Kashmir demands that a separate appointment panel other than the SSRB may be urgently created for this special recruitment drive. We will in near future chalk out a time frame plan to follow up these important issues and will take them up at appropriate levels both at the centre and the state.
