SRINAGAR, DEC 16: Senior APHC leaders including Islamic Political Party – JK Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and President Muslim Democratic League Hakeem Abdul Rashid today visited the Mazaar-e-Shuhada (martyrs’ graveyard) Srinagar to pay tributes to Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq on his 24th anniversary. They also offered fateha prayers in favour of the great mujahid.
Other pro-freedom leaders and activists were also present on the occasion and paid tributes to Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq. These include the respected son of Shaheed Shamsul Haq, pro-freedom leaders Musadiq Adil, A Majeed Wani (PPF), Farooq Tawheedi (PPL), General Musa (TK), Farooq Gutpori (ML), Babar Qadri (LC), Yousuf Nadeem (TW), Imtiaz Hyder, Ghulam Mohammad Misgar (TH) Abdul Hameed (NF), Jafer Kashmiri (PL), Mohammad Yasin Qadri (JI), Mehraj ud Din (SM), Rouf Khan (VOV), Nisar Kashmiri, and many prominent Islamic scholars and pro freedom activists.
Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, and others addressed the gathering.
Naqash said Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq devoted his life for the liberation of Kashmir and dignity of Islam. He hailed the Shaheed’s invaluable services and sacrifices to the freedom movement.
Hakeem Abdul Rashid in his address said besides a great mujahid, Shaheed Shamas-ul-Haq was a renowned scholar of Islam and is the author of many books. His sacrifice and services towards Islam and freedom movement will always be remembered.
Paying glowing tributes to Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq, the pro-freedom leaders on the occasion pledged that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and that the freedom struggle would continue till the achievement of Azadi from Indian occupation.
The leaders also offered fateha prayers in favour of Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq and all the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir including the martyrs of 2016 anti-India uprising.
