RAMBAN,DEC 17: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Ramban, Neelam Langeh today inaugurated an awareness programme regarding the pre-matric Scholarship for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) students organized by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs (TA) in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Development Action Group (JKDAG) at Maitra, Ramban .
The programme was attended by Deputy Director (DD), TA, Jammu, Suman Bala, President, JKDAG, S M Hussain, President, J&K Gujjar Association, Haji Mohammad Yousuf, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Mohammed Sharief Chauhan, ZEO, Zubaida Begum, BDO Ramban Mumtaz Mirza besides prominent people and students.
The MLA spoke on various initiatives taken by the government for development and empowerment of the ST community and asked the people to avail maximum benefit of these schemes.
While appreciating the department for organizing the awareness programme, the MLA stressed upon the need of organising more and more such camps for successful implementation of welfare and development programmes of the government.
