NEW DELHI, Aug 16: Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new slogan ‘Bharat Jodo’, Congress veteran and former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that on one hand, Modi was calling for uniting the country, while on the other, the RSS and other affiliated outfits were spreading communal hatred and trying to break the country.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC Headquarters here, Azad said the country was united by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi long ago and it would remain the same, if the Sangh Parivar would stop dividing the nation on the basis of religion and caste.
In his speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort yesterday, on the occasion of 70 years of Independence, the Prime Minister had urged the countrymen to take everyone together, giving the new slogan, ‘Bharat Jodo’. (AGENCIES)
