Srinagar, Aug 16: Army on Wednesday paid homage to a soldier who succumbed to injuries sustained during cross-border firing in Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on August 7.
Havaldar Narendra Singh breathed his last at 92 Base hospital in Srinagar today.
“He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital where he fought against death before succumbing to the injuries,” said a spokesman.
Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the soldier in a ceremony at B B Cant.
In a show of solidarity, the Revenue Minister of J&K Abdul Rehmaan Veeri and officials of other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the soldier, said the spokesman. (CNS)
