Jammu, Sept 17: At least three civilians were injured when Pakistani shells landed in Arnia belt, a Jammu town that lives very close to the international border. The rival armies are reported to have exchanged shells during the last night.

The border town has been facing serious crisis quite frequently because of the shelling. In 2014, the shelling literally triggered a sort of a massacre as the own migrated and loved away for a very long time. The latest spell of shelling was reported at around 9:30 pm and the fire exchange continued beyond midnight, reports said.
Pakistani shells landed in the localities of Sai, Jabbowal and Jora Farm. BSF retaliated and hit Pakistani positions. BSF Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh was killed by a bullet fired by Pakistani Rangers on September 15. The frequent shelling has led to teh closure of the barter trade between Poonch and Rawalkot for almost two months now.
The shelling exchange came within days after Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited Nowshehra border belt and warned Pakistan for frequent violations of the ceasefire.
The shelling exchanges are taking place at a time when Pakistan is planning raking up Kashmir at the UN General Assembly.safe_image-13
