Jammu, March 03: Puneet Singh Jamwal, Zone President, J&K People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Jammu West today said that Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was all for accountability and transparency for which he had also brought in a law and framed State Accountability Commission (SAC). Now that few corrupt engineers, educationists and officers of various departments are being arrested by State Vigilance Organization (SVO) the same mantra of accountability and transparency is showing results in J&K State.
Urging honest and committed officials to not to get scared of these arrests, he said that corrupt stand nailed and since the government is being tough on black sheep very soon the administration will be cleansed off deadwood. The SVO, he said had always remained at receiving end and this was under the regime of PDP-BJP coalition that it has been activated and these arrests affected. The corrupt, earlier used to stretch their cases in SVO and retire but these expeditious efforts are proving productive and have sent strong signals amongst corrupt that government is not going to tolerate them.
Governor N N Vohra’s observations that SVO is making prompt efforts to clear all pending cases without any fear or favor are also appreciable. He hoped that concerned departments would furnish the related records of cases and cooperate with SVO and adequate staff would also be posted in SVO to expedite pending cases. The recent arrests, Puneet Singh Jamwal said have sent shivers down the spines of corrupt and would bring an order into the system of functioning in departments.
Puneet Singh Jamwal said the coalition government means business and there is no room left for corrupt. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is following the footsteps of late CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in clearing the administration off deadwood. The honest and committed officials, he added must work with dedication and help make Jammu and Kashmir a model state where all three regions witness equitable development on all fronts. There are massive plans in pipe line and only dedicated officials can be entrusted with job to realize them.
