AISF questions Govt on reopening schools in J&K as there is raise in Covid-19 cases which are coming positive.

Doda/ Jammu: What is the logic of opening schools when every day more than 1500 people are testing positive for COVID-19. How can we put the life of our children in risk? Are the officials okay with making our children soft targets? It seems some officials want to score some points for their own benefits,”
Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development in a tweet said “Schools reopening tomorrow not for regular classes but consultation” by volunteer secondary students on consent of parents with 50% teachers on roster as per MHA lockdown 4 guidelines & Ministry of Health & FW protocols conveyed by Chief Secretary & circulated to DCs/ Directors/ CEOs.
Mukesh Parihar, former State President of All India Students Federation J&K observed that reopening of schools was not as easy as it is made to appear. “One thing is clear, parents will never risk the lives of their children by sending them to schools in the middle of the worsening Coronavirus crisis, no matter how much academic loss it entails or whatever it means”.
Govt has circulated a letter for parents on which parents/ guardian has to write 3 things on that letter. One important line in that letter is “I shall personally responsible, if there is any untoward incident like corona virus infection with my ward. I shall not blame anybody in the school for such an incident”
“While officers sitting in closed rooms are out with circulars suggesting reopening of schools this month, they are mum on explaining the rationale behind rushing through the decision to the anguished parents” he said.
