Launches daily flights connecting Port Blair to Bengaluru and Chennai
Portblair, 2023:Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline commences operations from Port Blair, the capital of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, operating daily through flights between Bengaluru and Port Blair via Chennai, with no change of aircraft required. The inaugural flight on 15 December 2023 departed Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair at 10:35 am arriving at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 14:50hrs, with a stop at Chennai International Airport in Chennai at 13:00hrs. These strategically planned routes will enhance connectivity between the tourist hub and two major routes
Travel demand to Andaman and Nicobar Islands has seen major uptick in the past decade. With commencement of flights, Akasa Air will offer enhanced accessibility and affordable connectivity to the islands, in line with the government’s efforts to bolster trade and tourism in the region.
