JAMMU, May 26: Apni Party leaders and workers today staged a protest demanding construction of Nallah culvert and small bridge as pathway for the residents of ward number 61 and 67.
The protest was led by District President Jammu Rural – ‘A’, Pushap Dev Kumar Uppal in which Hoshiyar Singh, a local resident along with others participated in the demonstration.
Pushap Dev Kumar Uppal and Hoshiyar Singh while addressing the protesters highlighted hardships being faced by the residents that a tender has already been floated by the UEED Department in the month of November 2022 yet nothing has been done.
They said that the land mafia with support allegedly from the Revenue and Municipal Corporation authorities is bent upon encroaching the nallah land for their commercial deeds.
The residents also raised their voice that they have an apprehension that the land mafia may target and manhandle them as done earlier so many times.
“It was also reported on spot that the Corporators are hand in glove to encroach the nallah land and appealed the authorities to come into rescue before the rainy season so that the culvert and pulley for pathway is constructed and the residents are protected from the water of the nallah during rainy season and their children avail the facility of the pulley for going to school and markets for daily needs,”
A later demonstration was also held on the spot raising slogans against the Authorities for meeting their demands at the earliest otherwise the people of the concerned area shall be forced to come on streets and belling the cats for their wrongdoings.
