JAMMU, March 6: Apni Party has reiterated demand of holding early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued, Apni Party General Secretary Vikram Malhotra said that the Delimitation Commission should not be taken as an excuse to stretch the rule of Lt Governor in J&K.“The Govt of India should understand the ground reality as the people are in distress without an elected Govt. LG is doing a good job, but it does not mean that the people are satisfied. The administration does not listen to them, and LG cannot handle it all alone. Therefore, elections should
be held as early as possible in J&K,” said Malhotra.
He was addressing a function at Kachi Chowni in which large numbers of youth joined the Party in presence of senior leaders. The programme was organized by Janmeet Singh Bali.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh welcomed the newcomers intothe Party and hoped that their joining will strengthen the Party.
Manjit Singh said that the youth are facing unemployment and the scope of getting Govt service has reduced. “J&K faced a difficult period in the last 30 years. It should be given concession and
therefore, the Govt of India should reserve jobs for the education youth of the erstwhile state,” he said.
He said that the public woes have increased due to bureaucratic attitude and uneasiness among the people has increased.
“The JMC is not listening to the representatives and doing work with their own wishes. The BJP is working with an adamant attitude,” he added.
He said that extending Lt Governor’s rule in J&K under the grab of the Delimitation Commission is unjustified and the decision should not be forced on the people.
“Lt the Commission continue its process, the Govt should keep seven assembly constituencies reserved till the report delimitation is submitted, and till then elections must be held so that an
elected Govt is put in place,” he added.
