*ARMY ORGANISES SHAHEED CAPT ATUL SOMRA CRICKET LEAGUE 2021-22*

Army Camp Banihal is organising “Shaheed Capt Atul Somra Cricket League 2021-22” from 01 Nov 2021 to 16 Nov 2021 for youth of Banihal , District Ramban (J&K) to motivate them towards physical fitness and fostering sportsmanship.
Capt Atul Somra belonging to Ambala Cantt, Haryana had done the supreme sacrifice for the nation by laying his life for the motherland on 18 Jul 2002. This tournament will be organised to commemorate his sacrifice and pay our homage to the brave soul.
40 teams from various parts of Ramban district have registered for the tournament . Inaugural match of the tournament was played between FB Sports Banihal and HCC, Kaskoot on 01 Nov 2021.
The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr Amir Hassan, BDO Banihal, who appreciated the continuous efforts of Army for providing an opportunity to local teams to showcase their sports talent. The event has witnessed a high interest level among the youth belonging to the remote villages of Ramban District.
The Army assured the local population for its continued co-operation to assist boosting sports in the area and conduct sports events in the future also.
