Atrocities on Dalit on the rise in BJP ruled states: Lochan
JAMMU JULY 17- Co-Chairman National Conference Scheduled Caste Cell Jammu Mr Vijay Lochan today condemned the atrocities committed on a Dalit family in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, saying the acts of harassment on Dalits are increasing day by day, especially in the BJP ruled states.
“This incident is a glaring example of atrocities on marginalised Dalits. The Dalit couple, namely Savita and Raju were severely beaten and subjected to torture by police of Madhya Pradesh crossing all limits”, Mr Lochan said in a statement issued from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan, adding that the couple was forced to consume poison in front of police authorities. Thus is highly disgusting and deplorable, he added.
Mr Lochan said that if the government claims that land mafia was behind this inhuman act then it was the duty of the police to arrest the mafia and not to torture poor Dalit family. There is complete jungle Raj in Madhya Pradesh under the rule of Shivraj Singh Chauhan were atrocities on Dalits are increasing with each passing day. He said the suspension is no punishment and all those persons involved in crime should be punished under IPC-302.
