BJP holds protest against killings of BJP leader, family members in Bandipora

Perpetrators of such gruesome acts not well-wishers of Kashmiris: Yudhvir Sethi

J&K BJP unit on Thursday staged protest against the killing of BJP leader Sheikh Wasim Bari, his father and brother in a terrorist attack in Bandipora.

Led by Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP Vice President, the party workers assembled near City Chowk area of Jammu city and raised anti-Pakistan slogans demanding elimination of the terrorists involved in the killings. The protest was organized by Parveen Kerni, President BJP Jammu East Mandal.

Talking to reports here, Sethi said that terrorists are trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere and are targeting political leaders. He further said that the political workers working extensively in far off and most interior places are becoming soft targets of militants.

“The anti-national forces are hell bent to ruin the peace progress of Kashmiri Valley which has seen a new phase of development since the PM Modi has taken the reins of Central Government. Such gruesome acts are meant to create scare among people of Kashmir Valley, who are now extending support to the policies and programmes of BJP Government at the Centre,” Sethi said.

Sethi said that the perpetrators of such crimes are not the well-wishers of Kashmiris as they are not digesting the abrogation of Article 370 and resignation of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani from Hurriyat Conference who is responsible for pushing Valley into terror and violence.

Pakistan is trying all the tricks up its sleeves to ensure that normalcy does not return to Kashmir and instead there is a revolt and bloodbath on streets. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is determined to defeat Pakistan’s nefarious designs and usher an era of peace, prosperity, progress and development in Kashmir,” Sethi said.

Lauding the efforts of security forces in eliminating militants during past few months, Parveen Kerni, President Jammu BJP East Mandal said that their valour is appreciable but those sitting as soft targets need to be protected tight at the very beginning.
