Shopian, 16-May; District Administration Shopian Foundation (JKYF) in collaboration with J&K Yateem today organized a blood donation camp at District Hospital Shopian.
Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb inaugurated the blood donation camp in pursuit of common humanitarian cause in presence of Dr. Rubella Maqbool Medical Superintendent District Hospital Shopian and Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi General secretary Jkyf and large gathering of officers, officials and volunteers of J&K Yateem Foundation District Unit Shopian
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that blood donation is a social service and people especially youth should come forward to donate blood which helps in saving the precious lives.
He appreciated volunteers of JKYF and who donated their blood and also congratulated the stakeholders for conducting the blood donation camp for a better cause.
He received feedback from the concerned officers regarding functioning of the blood bank established in the hospital.
He was informed that there is a capacity of 300 pints in the blood bank and almost 81 pints remain available.
JKYF organised the camp in which 81 volunteers inclding 3 female volunteers of JKYF from different parts of the district donated their blood to save precious lives.
Officers of various departments besides doctors and paramedics were also present on the occasion.
General Secretary JKYF extended his gratitude to District Hospital and District Administration Shopian, for putting in place all the necessary arrangements in a befitting manner. He also appreciated humanitarian spirit of JKYF volunteers and doners of District Shopian for making the programme successful.
